Chelsea sits at the junction of the Mystic River and Boston Harbor and has a deep and vibrant history. The second battle of the American Revolution was fought on the shore of Chelsea Creek. Two fires destroyed significant portions of the town, including the 1973 Chelsea Fire that many locals still remember.
